A condominium is similar to an apartment but can be individually owned, the common area is normally jointly owned by all of the residents of the condominium block. They are a popular choice for first time owners and investors in Thailand, and there are many opportunities to invest in Koh Samui, as the condominiums are 100% freehold, and these properties can be owned by foreigners, under your personal name.
We suggest you should have a minimum of THB 2,000,000 or USD 60,000 to find a suitably maintained apartment with amenities in Koh Samui.
You will generally have to pay a property maintenance fee or CAM fee. This is a fee towards maintaining the communal areas such as the gym, swimming pool, spa, sauna, reception, corridors, lifts, parking lot etc.
